The consultation process

Financial advice works best when both sides know what happens before fees are charged. This page walks through how Charter Vale runs meetings from first contact to written plan.

Advisers preparing papers before a client meeting
  1. Enquiry & fit check

You tell us your horizon — retirement date, gift plans, or tax-year pressure — and we confirm whether we can help or should refer you (for example, to a solicitor or a specialist transfer adviser).

  2. Fee quote in writing

Before any modelling, you receive a fixed or capped fee for the named engagement, deposit terms, and what sits outside scope.

  3. Document gathering

We send a checklist: pension statements, ISA valuations, mortgage balances, and State Pension forecasts. Incomplete packs simply delay the options meeting; we do not invent missing figures.

  4. Discovery meeting

Held in East Boehm or by video. We listen for constraints you may not put in a form — caring duties, planned house moves, health considerations.

  5. Analysis & options session

You see two or three workable paths, not a single “recommended product.” Numbers are labelled as illustrations, with assumptions stated.

  6. Written deliverable

A bound or PDF summary arrives after the final meeting. Implementation with providers remains yours unless you separately engage us for ongoing oversight.
